Things I think and then type.

Addition progress 11/10 – 11/11, painting, doors, deck, tile

It’s really coming together now. We could actually be done by Thanksgiving, two weeks early on an already accelerated schedule!!! That gives more time to clean, prepare, move in, and even enjoy the new house before master Ben arrives.

New addition progress: 11-8, 11-9, trim, tiling, painting begun

We went back and forth about losing our hallway/pantry shelves. In order to trim the entrances, the shelves would have to go and I wasn’t happy about it. We just had those ugly shelves spruced up with trim and bead board just last April, in addition to having trim added in the kitchen and the whole room painted. Now, officially all of that is completly gone. I really liked the shelves but (in Elizabeth’s opinion), they had to go. It does look nice, but I liked the shelves and was proud of how we took something original to the house when we purchased it and found a way to make it look great without ripping it out.

Addition progress, 11-5

Not really progress pics here, just choosing some paint colors. I kind of forgot what was done on Saturday. Well, that work will be reflected in Monday’s photos.

Addition progress 11-4

The major update here is the new landscaping. We’d pulled out some overgrown bushes back in the spring and the front of our house has either been bare dirt or weeds since. I’m sure our neighbors will be pleased that we have actual landscaping. Also, this is much more deliberate and involved landscaping than you usually see in Oak Park. Elizabeth is very excited about it. In addition, we sodded areas damaged in the construction and reclaimed about 1 1/2′ from the front of the house where those massive bushes creeped towards the sidewalk. They would have made it eventually.
