Length debate
There was some initial argument about his height accuracy at the hospital. The nurse claimed that the hospital measurement is always rushed and often not accurate, so her measurement at 9 days came out much lower. However, we measured him at home and found him to be taller than the hospital measurement, assumably because he’d grown a bit, but not enough to make up the difference.
At 22″ in birth length, he is in the 95th percentile for birth height, but because he has a tall father (I’m 6′2″ which is about the 90th percentile), may father is tall (6′3″) and Elizabeth’s father was even taller (6′4″), it doesn’t seem too far off. Also, he was born at 41 weeks+ and then there’s the fact that birth length is not necessarily indicative of adult height. My birth length was 20 1/2″.
