Yet another doc appointment (they’re every two weeks now and soon will be weekly) and still more ultrasounds.  We’ve gone beyond just being an “at risk” pregnancy due to age or past risk factors — we pretty much shifted to just normal folks many months ago — and now face a potential complication that could force a scheduled c-section.  It’s not entirely uncommon and it’s one of those issues that might have seriously threatened Elizbeth’s life were this many years ago before they could see these things on ultrasounds.  So we’re grateful that modern tech is benefitting us to make a potentially dangerous situation into a routine procedure.  Still, we’d both like a natural birth (not sans epidural, mind you) and would be dissapointed if that doesn’t happen.  But it’s all about Luke being healthy and Elizabeth along with him.

So we may or may not find out something on Tuesday, but we’ll know if things are progressing in the right or wrong directions.

On the positive side, Luke is kicking like a mad these days!  It’s no longer “put your hand here and wait” it’s here, it’s there, it’s everywhere.  In fact, it’s so powerful that I can easily see him kicking and shifting.  You think of babies as being so weak and yet there’s such distinct power in his movements.  I actually caught a bit of it on video and I’m going to try to get more.  I general, I need to get more video of Elizabeth pregnant.  I know we’ll regret it later if I don’t but what is there to film?  There she is!  She’s pregnant!  I’m sure years from now, that will be enough.

I sanded and painted and painted and painted a dresser that will become part of the nursery.  It’s painted a red color to match his crib.  The nursery is sort of Red, Blue and Green so we’ve got a lot of options.  I’m not a very patient painted so as soon as one coat was established, I would slap on another.  Three were necessary due to the type of previous finish.  In the end, the ends were kind of drippy/sloppy but after we put it in the nursery, none of that was visible.  It looks quite good.  It’s a reasonable height so will be a changing table too.
