Quickie Notes
* I’ve started the nursery this weekend. We’d already bought the desired paint a while back and I spent the last month essentially eliminating my office, moving our bedroom into what was my office and I just painted the old bedroom/nursery a light shade of blue. Man, painting is exhausting! All that hard pressing to cover up the old color (a light brown) so that two coats will do it. I was sore the next day. Looks good, though.
We had a sleeper “sofa” in denim delivered on Saturday. Smaller than a loveseat, it’s basically a perfect twin bed when it’s pulled out. Now we can actually give a guest a bed and a room (assuming Luke will be in a bassinet in our room for a few months).
Also, I hauled up the crib we bought way back in January — the first thing we bought, in fact — and assembled it. It’s a $600 Pottery Barn crib that we found on Craigslist for a mere $175 (with accessories). Not bad. It’s red.
* We’re doing our nationwide belly blowout tour in the next few weeks. Next weekend we’re going to Kentucky so mom can see Elizabeth super pregnant. We were there earlier in the year but Elizabeth wasn’t really showing. Then, two weeks later we head to Pennsylvania for the wedding of my cousin, Jenny Schilling.
* I’m adding to the registry page. We’re trying to register some places where people can actually go to a store, rather than force people to use Amazon or another online-only method.
* My mother’s dog Blade passed away this weekend. He just died in his sleep apparently, although I will talk to the vet Monday morning. He was a great Rhodesian Ridgeback and a wonderful companion. He died by my mother’s side at the age of 12.
