We figure since we’re IUI all-stars (one try, one success) that the second time will be as easy. The routine was the same as before but we were a little more serious this time. It needed to work. Unfortunately, my numbers weren’t quite as impressive as last time, but still good.

It’s the same as before. Elizabeth starts to take the Clomid early and through something like day 10. Then, I believe, she has an injection for the day-of. We’re not happy about the drugs but Dr. Barnes assures us that they’re not extreme.

We continue to use the fertility monitor, especially because it tells us exactly what day we’re on. That means, of course, that we know that by day 24 we can actually buy an early pregnancy test. Unfortunately, this time it’s negative.

Then a psychological game begins: Since it’s an early test, maybe it just missed it (late implantation). Hopes get up. She takes another test. Hopes dashed. Still, no period. Hopes get up. Period comes. Hopes dashed.

As for me, it’s back to Acupuncture and those vitamins I’ve been neglecting. Had my numbers heald steady or gone up I probably wouldn’t bother, but they were less that last time. While it could just be some variance, we didn’t get pregnant this time so I need to be proactive, as before. Every little sperm counts.
