Blathering On

Things I think and then type.

Save Saab!

General Motors has been given five legitimate, well-financed bids to buy Saab. Will they do the right thing and sell, or make up some bullshit excuse that the bids weren’t sufficient so they can rebadge the new 9-5 as a Buick in China? GM = Gordon Gecko

Santa, Baby!

What can I say? I’ve been posting this photo wherever I can. It’s the cutest pic of Luke thus far and it’s hard to imagine a better one. The poor little guy has had many interruptions to his schedule lately because we’ve driven down to Kentucky twice in the last few weeks. He’s an excellent car rider, and only had me stop ONE time in a 400 mile trip when it was just the two of us. Like I said before, it’s Baby Speed. Keep the car moving above 30mph and everyone’s happy.

Unfortunately, upon our return, he adopted a new schedule in which he wakes up at 4am every morning to eat. This is a boy who has been sleeping through the night since he was eight weeks old so we’ve gotta find a way to break this new habit. We’re at the stage where we’re to start introducing solid foods which apparently often helps in sleeping.

His recent trip to the doc revealed a healthy little fella and he got his four month shots. He’s 26 1/2 inches tall and weighs 17 lbs. (as of December 7th). A friend of ours has a 11 month old girl who is 18 lbs. It’s weird — I’m proud of this silly stuff in an illogical way. Being an especially large baby is not a sign of health, necessarily, and neither Elizabeth or I are large people. I’m tall and she has tall genes. Neither of us are wide in girth. Obese women have large babies — clearly, that’s not what we want. I guess as a dad, I’m proud of every and anything.

Luke Dancing (at 2 1/2 months)

Luke just celebrated his 4 Month Birthday, so this video is pretty outdated. Still, I just burned the tape this was on to DVD so I was able to extract it. I love to have Luke dance and he likes to laugh and giggle… which in turn cracks me up seeing him groove with his big pumpkin smile. This was from mid October 2009.
